Evolve Housing was thrilled to win the award for Excellence in Business Ethics at the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence (WSABE) last week.

Evolve was awarded the honour for its work with empowering residents and building sustainable communities as well as its outstanding efforts leading the organisation of the 2015 and 2016 Western Sydney Homeless Connect event.

Evolve Housing has shown that it is committed to providing integrated housing solutions and engagement programs that empower residents and disadvantaged people on their journey to great independence. Evolve’s vision is to build thriving communities where all people flourish  with a focus on strengthening and empowering people on their journey of personal growth.

Andrea Galloway, CEO Evolve Housing said that with 60% of the organisations’ housing portfolio and tenants located in high need areas of Western Sydney, Evolve is highly involved and most active within the Western Sydney community.

“Working as the project lead of Western Sydney Homeless Connect is one way we can extend our reach from just our Evolve Housing residents to supporting the broader Western Sydney community. With homelessness on the rise and the housing affordability crisis pushing people further into poverty, we need to be looking at ways to prevent people from falling into homelessness and continuing to provide opportunities for people in community housing.’

‘We are privileged to receive this WSABE award and hope that we can continue to deliver positive social and economic outcomes that are both sustainable and beneficial to the community,” said Ms Galloway.

The WSABE awards provide an opportunity for organisations in the NFP and commercial sectors across Western Sydney to achieve recognition for their excellence as well as connect to increase collaboration in the region. Evolve is recognised as an industry leader having won more than 30 industry awards including for the past 2 years being named Australian Housing Institute NSW Community Housing provider of the year.

Evolve Housing is one of Australia’s largest Community Housing Providers (CHPs), that owns or manages approximately 4,200 social and affordable housing properties across Australia that are home to almost 12,000 people.
