Community Gardens

Make your own Community Garden

The community greening project unites local residents to build functional community gardens which delivers sustainable produce and also provides an avenue for social engagement across neighbourhood networks.

Residents from Hebersham with their blossoming garden

Evolve Housing's 'Going Green' project was launched to build functional community gardens within developments managed by the residents. The communal gardens delivers sustainable produce and also provides an avenue for social engagement across neighbourhood networks.

As part of our partnership with the Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney Community Greening program we aim to help residents to develop new skills in gardening, grow their own food and learn more about sustainable living.

Evolve provides residents with tools and supplies to support the garden and the plants are provided by RBGS program so there is no cost to the residents at all, further encouraging them to get involved. Staff from the RBGS Community Greening program visit residents at various stages throughout the process to keep their knowledge up to date, check in on the garden and teach residents new skills to keep their garden healthy.

Download our Community Greening Handbook here if you are interested in getting your resident group involved.
