Evolve Housing wins at the Australasian Housing Institute Awards

Dec 10, 2021

We are excited to announce that Evolve Housing received the Leading Community Engagement Practice award at the Australasian Housing Institute Awards yesterday afternoon!

We received the award for our Arncliffe Community Hub project, which provides support to 140 high-needs social housing residents. The project takes an innovative place-based approach, and has the aim of building up residents’ capacity so they can improve their health, access training, education and employment, and achieve their life goals.

The Hub has two staff members who work on-site to support the residents – a Community Connections Coordinator, and a Housing Manager. Both of these staff members have done a fabulous job at achieving this, receiving positive feedback from tenants and helping to create a real sense of community.

The Hub also hosts events and offers resources that are tailored to the residents’ needs – for example, health drop-in sessions, workshops, fun social activities, a homework and internet hub, a community garden, and a street library.

Congratulations to our Resident Services team whose hard work has created and sustained this important project. A big thank you especially to the dream team of Paea Sinaki, Carrie-Ann Lumsden, Jo Lang, and the Resident Engagement Team.

We would also like to acknowledge and thank the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation for their generous funding support of the Arncliffe Community Hub.

We are delighted that such a deserving, impactful project was recognised at the AHI Awards, and thank the organisers for such a great afternoon at the event.
