RUOK? Day
For RUOK Day, the Evolve Housing and EchoRealty teams enjoyed a delicious BBQ with residents and clients to stay connected and ask RUOK?
RUOK? promotes suicide prevention through strengthening personal relationships and empowering informal support networks, like friends, family, and colleagues, to recognise signs of distress and engage in early conversations to connect individuals with necessary support before a crisis emerges.
We were honoured to welcome Melissa Wu, a five-time Olympian who spoke to us about her life experiences, resilience and overcoming challenges. Despite facing injuries, personal setbacks, and the immense pressure that comes with competing on the world stage, Melissa consistently pushed forward, proving that success is as much about mental strength as physical skill.
Her ability to overcome these challenges reflects her unwavering determination and serves as an inspiration for all of us to persevere through our own obstacles, no matter how big or small and that there is always help available no matter where you are.
We all have a role to play in looking out for those we care about at home, work or in our community. A simple “are you OK?” could change a life. You don’t need to be an expert to ask, but we hope you remember that the best thing you can do is reach out for support.
To our residents, if you need any kind of support, you can contact us by calling 1800 693 865 or by emailing myevolve@evolvehousing.com.au. We have a wonderful in-house support team made up of qualified support workers who will do their best to help you or point you in the direction of a service provider who can help.
