Evolve Housing is bidding farewell to David Borger, who has decided to step down in his role as a Director after 12 years of dedicated service.

David has been an invaluable member of our Board, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience from his roles in both the public and private sectors. As the Executive Director of Business Western Sydney, David has been a strong advocate for the region, working tirelessly to support growth and investment into social and affordable housing. His leadership also extends to his time as the NSW Government Minister for Roads, Housing, and Western Sydney, and his contributions to several boards, including Placemaking NSW and NRMA.

David’s dedication and commitment played a significant role in our organisation’s growth, particularly in raising awareness about social and affordable housing. He joined Evolve Housing in 2013, a year after the merging of two companies – Cumberland Housing and Western Suburbs Housing which formed the new entity known as Affordable Community Housing. David’s passion and contribution towards Evolve Housing’s mission played a significant role in our portfolio growth from 2,000 properties to over 5,000+ during his tenure, and in so doing, providing homes for thousands of residents.

David has long been advocating for more public and private sector investment to help make a meaningful impact on the community we serve. His demonstrated leadership and deep passion for our mission led him to fight for greater investment in NSW. His incredible efforts not only helped shape and allow our organisation to thrive, but it also had a meaningful impact on the community we serve, with more than 11,000 residents being cared for by Evolve Housing.

Evolve Housing Group Chairman, Chris Eccles AO expressed his gratitude for David’s contribution over the past 15 years.

“David’s leadership and commitment have been instrumental in shaping Evolve Housing’s growth and success over the years,” Mr Eccles said.

“His passion for Western Sydney and his strategic vision has helped steer us towards our mission of delivering quality, affordable housing. We thank him for his tireless contributions and wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”

Evolve Housing Group CEO Lyall Gorman extended his heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for David’s contributions which have helped shape Evolve Housing into the leading Community Housing Provider it is today.

“David’s leadership has been pivotal in Evolve Housing’s growth, and his passion for social and affordable housing has had a lasting impact on our mission,” Mr Gorman said.

“His commitment to bettering the lives of those we serve has been nothing short of inspiring, and we are deeply grateful for everything he has done to help shape our organisation’s success.

“We wish David all the best in his future endeavours and look forward to him remaining a lifelong friend of Evolve Housing.”
