Evolve Housing will be offering tenant amnesty from 1 September 2024 until 31 October 2024.

How does tenant amnesty work?

Evolve Housing is aware many of our residents do the right thing and report any changes within the time period.

This is very important as your social housing rent is calculated as a proportion of your total household income. If additional income, additional people, financial assets or property ownership are not declared, the resident or their approved household members may be paying less rent than they should.

The amnesty gives people an opportunity to let Evolve Housing know about changes to your household situation that you may not have already advised without penalty, such as:

  • Undisclosed additional occupant: a person living in the property who has not been approved by Evolve Housing to live in the property and who is not paying their share of the rent.
  • Financial assets: can include cash, savings, investments, shares, term deposits or an interest in a business.
  • Property ownership: can include ownership or part-ownership of a residential property in Australia or overseas.

If you tell Evolve Housing about any of the above during the amnesty period, you will not have to pay back any money owed due to the non-disclosure.

You will be able to report any changes to us by:

  • Calling 1800 693 865
  • In person at our Parramatta or Moonee Ponds offices;
  • Emailing amnesty@evolvehousing.com.au or
  • Contacting your Housing Manager

If you have no changes to your household circumstances or your household income or assets, then you do not need to contact us.
