Our Reconciliation Journey
Evolve Housing is committed to working respectfully and collaboratively with Australia’s First Nations peoples. We embrace truth-telling, listen to lived experiences, and aim to provide homes and services that create culturally safe spaces. Our goal is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in achieving a healthy, prosperous future.
Supporting Our Residents
Around 2% of our residents identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. We honour their cultures and support their call for truth-telling and recognition of Australia’s full history.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan
We are committed to deepening engagement, fostering understanding and building respectful relationships to create more opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities through our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Our focus includes enhancing organisation-wide cultural competency, forging new partnerships, improving housing outcomes and empowering our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents and communities. Our RAP enables us to actively engage with our workforce, our partners and our  residents and clients on our journey to increasing awareness and understanding towards reconciliation.
Our Reflect RAP was endorsed by Reconciliation Australia in June 2023 and outlines the actions we will take in achieving reconciliation. These actions are categorised into four pillars – Relationships, Respect, Opportunities and Governance.
