Local families and essential workers will be shortly be welcomed into their new homes following the completion of 45 secure, social and affordable homes in Melbourne’s north-east under the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF).

Delivered by leading Community Housing Provider (CHP) Evolve Housing in partnership with the Victorian Government through Homes Victoria, Housing Australia, developer SEMZ Property Advisory & Project Management and builder Samssons projects, the development in Rosanna provides 30 social homes and 15 affordable homes for those most in need.

The new homes provide long-term housing security and foster a thriving, connected community, just 12 kilometres from the CBD. Strategically located within walking distance of Rosanna train station and the village precinct, the development places residents close to employment, education, healthcare, shops, parks and essential services.

Lyall Gorman, CEO of Evolve Housing Group, said the Rosanna project shows how housing policy becomes real impact when funding, partnerships and delivery align.

“This is what delivery looks like; real homes, in real neighbourhoods, for people who need them most,” Mr Gorman said.

“Rosanna demonstrates that affordable housing doesn’t belong on the outskirts of our cities; it belongs in well-connected communities where people can access opportunity, services and support.”

The project marks Evolve Housing’s second HAFF development in Victoria, reflecting the organisation’s growing role in delivering long-term housing outcomes across state boundaries through government and industry partnerships.

Simon Newport, CEO of Homes Victoria, said the project reflects Victoria’s commitment to practical housing solutions.

“This development is about delivering outcomes, not just announcements,” Mr Newport said.
“It means more Victorians can live close to transport, services and jobs, with the stability that secure housing provides.”

Scott Langford, CEO of Housing Australia, said projects like Rosanna show the impact of the HAFF model in action.

“The Housing Australia Future Fund is about turning investment into homes and opportunity,” Mr Langford said.
“This project demonstrates how collaboration with community housing providers and state governments delivers real results for communities.”
