Evolve Housing is proud to celebrate the graduation of Abrar Ali from the CHIA Social Housing Cadetship program—a milestone marking his dedication, growth, and the start of an exciting new chapter in his career.

After 12 months of hands-on experience and formal training, Abrar has successfully completed a Certificate IV in Social Housing and accepted a full-time position as a Contact Centre Officer at Evolve Housing.

“This cadetship has been a life-changing opportunity for me. Not only did it provide me with the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in social housing, but it also gave me the confidence to step into a real-world role,” Abrar said.

“I’m excited to now be joining Evolve Housing full-time, where I can apply what I’ve learned and continue to grow professionally.”

The CHIA Cadetship program offers participants a unique combination of paid on-the-job training and education, creating pathways into the community housing sector and building a pipeline of skilled professionals passionate about delivering safe, affordable housing.

Throughout his cadetship, Abrar was mentored by several Evolve Housing leaders who played a key role in his development.

“From the beginning, Abrar demonstrated an incredible work ethic and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others,” said Kristelle Taylor, Contact Centre Manager.

“His passion for social housing is clear, and I’m confident he’ll be a valuable asset to our team.”

Resident Services Team Leader Erlinda Trinidad-Soria also praised Abrar’s dedication to make a difference to all those around him.

“Abrar embraced the opportunity with his arms open and has truly transformed over the past year.”

“I look forward to seeing his growth in the social housing sector including Evolve Housing.”

Additional support came from Pam Spano, Business Support Senior Manager, and Joanne Baumgartner, People & Culture Advisor, who both contributed to guiding Abrar’s journey.

The Cadetship program is integral in creating pathways for individuals securing job opportunities within Community Services. In addition, the program creates a talent pool of suitably qualified candidates for the Community Housing sector.

Evolve Housing thanks CHIA for their partnership in empowering future leaders like Abrar to thrive in the housing industry.
