Construction is underway at the Melrose Park Gateway project, where Evolve Housing will own and manage 197 affordable apartments delivered through the Australian Government’s Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF).
The sod turning ceremony on 2 July marked the beginning of one of the largest affordable housing developments currently underway in NSW. Delivered by PAYCE in partnership with construction contractor DASCO, the project will provide 197 affordable apartments alongside 154 co-living homes, creating 351 homes within one of Western Sydney’s fastest growing communities.
For Evolve Housing Group CEO, Lyall Gorman, Melrose Park represents more than a construction milestone.
“Melrose Park demonstrates what can be achieved when government, developers and community housing providers work together with a shared purpose,” said Evolve Housing Group CEO Lyall Gorman. “Through this partnership, we are delivering 197 affordable homes that will provide greater housing security and help people stay connected to employment, education and essential services close to where they live.”
The project occupies a strategic location adjacent to the future Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2, close to the new Melrose Park Town Centre and future education infrastructure. The combination of affordable housing, public transport and community amenities will help create a well-connected and inclusive neighbourhood for future residents.
Representatives from government, Housing Australia, PAYCE, DASCO and Evolve Housing attended the sod turning ceremony, reflecting the collaborative approach underpinning the project. Together, these partners bring the investment, planning, development and long-term housing expertise required to deliver affordable housing outcomes at scale.
Expected to be completed in late 2028, Melrose Park Gateway highlights the role that coordinated partnerships can play in addressing Australia’s housing challenge while creating lasting benefits for communities.
