Evolve Housing Group is pleased to release our Annual Report for the 2022-2023 financial year, highlighting our consistent growth and strong social and financial achievements.

Evolve Housing Group is recognised as one of the most innovative, high performing providers of social, affordable and key worker housing in Australia. The Evolve Housing Group comprises Evolve Housing Limited and its controlled entities, including Evolve Housing Vic Limited (EHVL), EchoRealty NSW & ACT Limited (ERNAL) and EchoRealty Vic Limited (ERVL).

This annual report showcases the growth and financial achievements of our business, while highlighting the incredible achievements and personal growth of our residents over this past year.

Some achievements over the past financial year include our expansion into Victoria with our new Victorian entity EHVL and the successful management of 100 new social housing dwellings in Ascot Vale. This expansion into Victoria, gives EHVL the opportunity to help more Australians secure a roof over their heads, while having a strong positive impact on the Victorian community by increasing the capacity of the state’s community housing sector. Our profit-for-purpose real estate agency EchoRealty Vic also expanded its operation and now managing over 200 brand-new, high quality essential worker housing apartments in Alphington and Moonee Ponds which are offered at a reduced rent rate of up to 25-30% below market rent. We also launched our Victorian office in Moonee Ponds, providing tenancy support and services to our new Victorian renters.

With the successful completion of Lidcombe Rise, a mixed tenure development in Western Sydney, Evolve Housing has increased its property portfolio with the management of 63 social housing dwellings under a 20-year lease agreement with LAHC. Evolve Housing is also the proud owner of Tower B which comprises of 93 affordable housing units which are currently being leased through EchoRealty, our profit-for-purpose real estate agency specialising in Affordable Housing management.

Our expansion into Victoria and management of Lidcombe Rise has seen Evolve Housing’s property portfolio increase as well as the number of residents whose tenancies we manage. Evolve Housing currently provides housing for more than 11,000 people, an increase of 6.3% since last financial year. We also manage 4,773 properties, a 5.5% increase from last year.

Evolve Housing has further committed to providing more crisis accommodation for women and children at risk of homelessness and escaping domestic and family violence. The launch of tranche 1 of the NSW Government’s Core and Cluster opened in May 2023 in the Penrith LGA and was designed to allow for independent living and privacy for women with or without children. We look forward to providing additional accommodation through tranche 2 and 3 of the Core and Cluster Program.

In addition to providing quality housing services, Evolve Housing has been investing into new IT systems that will increase productivity across our organisation and deliver an even better experience for customers and employees. We also launched our inaugural ‘Reflect’ Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) endorsed by Reconciliation Australia in June 2023. The Plan expands on Evolve Housing’s existing work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and stakeholders and represents a significant step towards building stronger relationships with the Indigenous community. Recognising the need for Evolve Housing to take immediate action towards reconciliation, the plan provides a framework to help us create a culturally safe workplace and provide effective support to our residents.

With residents at the core of what we do, Evolve Housing constantly looks for new opportunities to assist those most in need with housing and support.

Evolve Housing Group CEO Lyall Gorman is extremely proud of the year that was and is looking forward to another year of success as we help more Australians.

“I am pleased to share our 2022-2023 Annual Report showcasing our growth and highlights which continue to inspire us to go above and beyond to help those most in need.
